The Department of Human Sciences for Education encompasses disciplinary areas ranging from history and philosophy to the educational, human and natural sciences. Its mission is to stimulate the interdisciplinary study of educational processes.

The department’s interdisciplinary structure is underpinned by two deeply-held convictions: the awareness that the contemporary scene demands new types of competence and ways of thinking, and the belief that, in today’s “knowledge society”, the advancement of knowledge is best served by treating the human and natural sciences as interconnecting fields.
